Get Interior Health to reverse decision to cut off canine cancer patients from chemo drugs

The Issue

Interior Health has decided that, effective January 1st 2017, staff at the RIH Oncology Pharmacy are no longer allowed to prepare Chemo treatments for dogs.  There are no alternatives in Kamloops, or the Interior.  These chemo treatments need to be prepared in the specialized facilities that only a human hospital has. The excuse is that a contract with a new supplier prohibits RIH from providing the chemo treatments.  They should change their contract - simple!  Dog owners pay all the fees for these chemo treatments, and will continue to do so if the treatment is available.  Chemotherapy does not typically affect dogs the way it affects people.  If your dog is diagnosed with a treatable cancer, won't you want to know that you have options to save their life?  Please sign this petition and tell Interior Health to reverse this decision. For the love of our canine friends!
