I'm signing because I am deeply concerned about the safety of e-scooters, not only for the rider, but also to pedestrians including children. Head trauma statistics from e-scooter accidents are alarming. If not carefully managed, they will be left all over the suburb, as is seen in other areas. Council should reconsider these funds for something more valuable to our community.

These puppies are not only left in a small, hard floored area at the front where people are banging on the glass and keeping them awake but are behind the counter and blocked off from being watched by the staff. This is the start of their lives when they learn to trust humans and need to be watched and properly cared for. Instead they are just money-making items for sale in a shop window LITERALLY. Also the amount of dead fish, snails and birds in tiny cages inside breaks my heart 😭

This is a small group of teens that keep doing this and it is making it unsafe for everyone to go the shopping centre. I personally refuse to shop there now until something is done to seriously address the current issue! Get serious and let’s make our shopping centre safe again!

More guards will of course be better for safety but the guards themselves need to feel safe. They require stab proof vests and pepper spray to handle armed individuals. Otherwise they are just as useless and in danger as the shoppers.
