Emily Hollis is a close friend of mine and it truly enraged me to find out that they labeled her, a minor, as a runaway when they knew she was with an older guy. I don't want any parents, friends, or families of other children to have to deal with cases being dismissed as "runaways"

While some states or school districts may make an effort to screen people who enter their building, they often rely on systems that claim to do background checks, however, there are registered sex offenders slip past the screening, because despite being official registered sex offenders, they do not appear on the national sex offender registry. Several years ago I wrote a petition after my daughter's rapist return to our community and the public was not notified of his presence. I had hoped that my petition would prevent there from being another victim. But less than 4 years later, a second Brave victim came forward. The case for the second victim is still in litigation 3 years later, well the registered sex offender continues to lurk in the shadows, completely oblivious to the community. I Can Only Imagine how many other victims there may be that have not come forward. I also wonder how many other registered sex offenders must be out there that don't appear on the public registry. And tell her it's true transparency and the sex offender registry, all it does is provides a false sense of security.

Garnet supported: Mandate Cameras in Florida Public SchoolsAll children should be safe, they rely on parents to be protected.. the fact that negligence of the person watching the child is a huge factor in the horrible fate of an innocent soul, is heart breaking. All things safety wise should be put in place when people have children and the person watching the child should be held responsible at every extent if the law. How many children does it take to die, for people to get held accountable? Ask yourself that question. Do what's right, for the saje of children's lives.

However, parents should be afforded peace of mind when their kids are playing on the playground via a fence around said playground. Being an area that kids are running around, parents should not have to be anxious that their kid could run away into the water in a split second. The choice should be afforded to parents about whether they want their kids to be playing near the water or not; it should not be forced on them as an option as they are trying to enjoy a family day outside with their kids. There absolutely needs to be a fence around every playground.

Toddlers, more so then any age,are quicker then most of us realize. It should be a top priority to do anything we can to keep them safe. It takes a village and we are all part of that village and need to raise awareness for the safety that is needed for our children.

There is so much foot traffic and with the water so close it was very worrisome for me with both kids at once. A (1) gate fence would be a great addition to all parks to keep kids safe. Accidents happen faster then we all would like them to.
