Ending BSL is imperative in providing these dogs with a chance. Not only does this ban play a role in PG county, but the surrounding areas rescuing and adopting pit bulls out of PG county diminishing chances for other dogs in the area. Families deserve to remain in a home with their dogs and should no be forced to live in certain areas or leave their family members behind.
This law is outdated and results in so much harm and suffering to innocent animals who deserve our love and protection. With this law we are missing out on one of the most loyal, gentle, and smart breeds that should be our companion.
I am proud to have a pitbull in my home and have fostered dozens of dogs. I support spending budgets on education, training, & spay/neuter instead of outlawing & euthanizing. Join me in continuing to rescue.
Montgomery County resident here fostering a precious boy from the Christmas Eve urgent list. I have had 6 pitbull mixes between fosters, family dogs, and my own. The law needs to be overturned- amazing dogs are being killed (with tax payer money!)
I had the pleasure of picking up a pitty from PG yesterday to foster, she had found herself on the euthanasia list and wasn’t eligible to be adopted in the county because of BSL. This dog is literally the sweet most gentle creature. Dogs are not the problem, people are. Let’s not punish the innocent for the crimes of others.
