My daughter grew up in Idaho, wrestled in Idaho her whole life, holds multiple state championship tittles and was devastated to know that if she wanted to keep wrestling that she would have to leave the state of Idaho to do it. Of coarse women’s wrestling was growing by leaps and bounds all over the country and she had multiple offers for scholarships in other states but so sad to know that is not the case in her home state.
If she had an opportunity to wrestle in Idaho on a collegiate level and get an education, she would have jump at the chance. She took a full scholarship for a NAIA DII school.
We girls here in Idaho hold our own on a high level and it blows my mind that there are no college opportunities for them here.
Soon, Idaho will be one of the last states to not offer college women’s wrestling. Surely we can do better than this by our female athletes.
It’s time to bring women’s wrestling to BSU!!!
I am a female wrestler. I’ve wrestled my whole life. I currently wrestle in college. Womens wrestling has been growing in large numbers for a long time now.
Every girl in Idaho deserves the right to wrestle D1 in their state.
I am a wrestler and it helps the community grow together and people express what they love! People deserve to wrestle in there state. I also want to wrestle for them
