The Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Honors students are allowed to wear stoles to show their accomplishment. However, Cadets are not allowed to wear their Military stoles to show their commitment. That proves the school district has a bias that is pro academic hierarchy and their rule for uniformity doesn't apply to all students.
Students formal achievements should be celebrated! Stoles and cords that have been awarded to students should be allowed to be proudly displayed during the ceremony. Uniformity is great for the cap and gown. The students are all unique and so are their achievements. As a parent, I would love to see the stoles and cords representing all the different achievements of my children and their classmates. It could also encourage future graduates to set goals that will award them with a cord or stole of their own!
To boil it down, a Wife lost her Husband and their 6 kids lost their Father, their hero. A Federal law enforcement officer seems to have lost his life under suspicious circumstances. A proper investigation into his death should be conducted, beginning with granting the family’s FOIA Request (Freedom of Information Act Request) and eventually this family can have long awaited answers and a factual understanding about the events and circumstances surrounding his untimely death. At which point, this Family could properly begin to heal.
I hope your family gets the answers and accountability you deserve.
