So under these proposals if you are 60-66 using an oyster card you would still qualify for free tube/train in London yet when you reach the age of 66 most of these will be taken away, just when you are likely to retire, have less income and no chance of another employment. How can that be justified. Surely it would be better to restrict for 60-66? Or preferably not at all
My husband has to attend Moorfields Hospital every month. We are both elderly pensioners and travel on the tube to get there as I need to accompany him. This will put a huge strain on our resources if we have to pay. Yes other areas do not get this benefit but Londoners have extra costs anyway living in the most expensive area in the UK.
