To start out i was a crown ward with access. My parents wouldn't sign for me to be adopted. Skip forward. 21 I had my son, 6 months in my care. I was struggling mentally and spoke about this with a old foster sister, who than went to her adoptive mom and so on. My mental health got worse. I decided to give my son up for a OPEN adoption. My boyfriend was there to be witness. The foster parent I lived with decided it was best for the adoption to be closed. Cas agreed. Adoption was closed. I haven't seen my son since his first birthday, 2018.

A lot of us wouldn't have made this decision if we knew it wasn't actually going to be an open adoption with open communication. The lack of recourse is frustrating if the birth mother has done nothing wrong to warrant removal from the child's life.
