Rainbow Bay SLSC is one of the few remaining surf clubs which evoke so many fond memories of family and community. This should be cherished not destroyed. This is an appalling decision by GCCC and must be stopped

It is the most precious, beautiful place on earth! Over the years I see it being destroyed more and more from greedy investors who don’t give a shit. It’s so heartbreaking, I’m watching all my life memories be taken away.
I remember when they knocked the aquatic club down to build on it and it’s still just a patch of dirt to this day. It was a place my parents went every weekend. They took away the best place and now they are doing it to the surfclub.
I really hope it’s saved.

Let’s maintain the charm and iconic building that’s sat on our coastline for so many years. I genuinely think this proposal to ‘upgrade’ the club and remove parking along with changing everything into a concrete mess for the rich is a money grab for the developers. I absolutely agree with upgrading the path but think we should keep the building and give it an internal revamp while maintaining the facade. This money would be better channeled in helping the local homeless population.

In the 70s I lived in Musgrave St across the road from the second groyne. There was always a problem with the parking at Snapper Rocks. It would be madness to reduce the existing parking space for a commercial enterprise. LEAVE IT ALONE OR IMPROVE THE PARKING AREA.

We're finally set to move there permanently now, and what? The Council takes it upon itself to destroy the essence of what makes Rainbow so special? Vote them out! I can't wait till we live there and we can help get rid of this mob. Community concerns ignored, no consultation or consideration given to what the local community wants for their neighbourhood? How do are they still in office? Get rid of them!!

Sitting on that deck already with the sun shades and the angle of the roof porch blocks out the sun for sunset beers on the porch, this new plan would cook people eating and drinking. Just leave it be, it’s an incredible Aussie pub very iconic look. Stop building this modern Asian looking crap. THIS IS AUSTRALIA.
Stop taking the SOUL from our places, don’t let greed and money change this place. Once you change it, the soul from this place will not be the same. Big mistake, and really know how to piss all the locals off aye. Place is ruined now by all the things they’ve built up already in the past 10 years. Let’s just keep this place protected, lots of history and smiles here. Nothing wrong with the place so why destroy it.
