Why is this gutless, spineless, weak and ineffective government giving in to these people? This stupid, thoughtless and reckless idea of putting asylum seekers in Cameron Barracks will put the people of Inverness at risk from from the criminal element that will exist within the numbers of the asylum seekers. Never mind putting them in barracks, just send them back to where they came from. Stop bringing them into this country. 🤬🤬
These plans to house asylum seekers ar Cameron Barracks is offensive to me. We have plenty of people in this area looking for a roof over their heads and I would far rather see them in the barracks than folk not from this area. We have no idea of asylum seekers values , which have already proved to be not what we expect or want in our country. Inverness is a small city and this would overwhelm this area, which is in a residential zone with schools so close. As a child I visited regularly the barracks as my Father and Grandfather and 3 great uncles were all based there at some point. I find the idea of it being used for this as ridiculous and deeply offensive. I speak out as a person born here with many generations of my family coming from here..please support us and get this disrespectful idea stopped.
I disagree. I think all these men have to go back to their own countries. Our country cannot cope with the stress and the demands regarding the N.h.s and infrastructure.
I am a resident in the Wimberley estate. We meet a lot of Afghan refugees, mostly young families that pass our house and we meet them when we go on walks in the area. However this takes it to a different level entirely. It will no longer be safe for my daughters to walk through the estate! Why were the residents like myself not once consulted? We heard it on the radio this morning.
I need to keep my young daughter safe, please don’t allow men that have no respect for women and children have free roam of what should be a quiet country town
As a highly skilled, high tax-paying Skilled Worker visa holder, I feel betrayed by the planned changes to the qualifying period for settlement. The immigration numbers are understandably too high, but those with advanced qualifications, working in sophisticated roles and paying high taxes should not be punished for the Conservatives' mismanagement of the immigration policy. I call for clarity in planning and urge the government not to apply the policy changes retrospectively to those who have already made life-changing decisions to commit themselves to life in the UK.
