我是一名在紐約成長、現居台灣的台灣青年。長年來，我親眼見證台灣在國際經貿與科技領域的努力。台灣人民勤奮踏實，為全球供應鏈提供關鍵的半導體、電子產品與醫療物資，特別是在疫情期間，台灣展現了責任與善意，積極協助各國。

然而，這份付出並未換來應有的公平對待。美國政府在川普總統任內對台灣產品課以沉重關稅，使許多中小企業與勞工承受巨大壓力。台灣已經承擔超出比例的責任，卻沒有得到對等的支持與合理的貿易環境。這樣的政策，不僅傷害了台灣，也限制了美國與世界從台灣產業中受惠的機會。

我們呼籲川普及美國決策者：

1.承認台灣的貢獻：台灣不是單純的經濟競爭對手，而是全球產業鏈的重要夥伴。

2. 降低不合理關稅：給予台灣公平待遇，讓雙邊企業能在平等基礎上合作發展。

3. 展現理性與互惠精神：唯有互信與合作，才能在動盪的國際局勢中維持穩定。

我們相信，美國若以理性和誠意對待台灣，不僅能鞏固彼此的經貿合作，也能向全世界展現對民主與公平的支持。

I am a Taiwanese youth who grew up in New York and now lives in Taiwan. Over the years, I have witnessed how much Taiwan has contributed to the global economy and international community. The people of Taiwan work tirelessly, providing the world with critical semiconductors, electronics, and even medical supplies. During the pandemic, Taiwan stepped up with responsibility and kindness, supporting countries in need.

Yet these contributions have not been met with fairness. Under President Donald Trump’s administration, Taiwan’s products were subjected to heavy tariffs, placing immense burdens on small businesses and workers. Taiwan has taken on responsibilities far beyond its size, but in return, it has not received the reasonable support or trade environment it deserves. These policies harm Taiwan, while also limiting America’s and the world’s ability to benefit from Taiwan’s industries.

We call on Donald Trump and U.S. policymakers to:

1.Recognize Taiwan’s contributions: Taiwan is not merely an economic competitor, but a vital partner in the global supply chain.

2.Reduce unfair tariffs: Provide Taiwan with equitable treatment so that businesses on both sides can thrive together.

3.Act with reason and reciprocity: Only through trust and cooperation can we maintain stability in today’s turbulent world.

We believe that if the United States treats Taiwan rationally and sincerely, it will not only strengthen bilateral economic relations but also demonstrate to the world its commitment to fairness and democracy.
