செப்டம்பர் 7, 2026 அன்று நடைபெற்ற தமிழ்நாடு சட்டமன்றப் பேரவை நிகழ்வின்போது, அவசரநிலைக் காலத்தில் மு.க. ஸ்டாலின் அவர்கள் MISA சட்டத்தின் கீழ் கைது செய்யப்பட்டதைப் பற்றி குறிப்பிடும்போது, மாண்புமிகு முதலமைச்சர் அவர்களின் செயல்பாட்டை மாண்புமிகு பேரவைத் தலைவர் அவர்கள் பரிசீலிக்குமாறு, தமிழ்நாட்டின் மீது அக்கறை கொண்ட குடிமக்கள் மற்றும் வாக்காளர்களாகிய நாங்கள் மரியாதையுடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.

சட்டமன்றம் மக்களுக்கான ஒரு உயரிய ஜனநாயக அமைப்பு; அது அரசியல் பிரச்சார மேடையோ அல்லது தனிப்பட்ட கேலிக்கான மேடையோ அல்ல.

நம் குழந்தைகள் நம்முடைய தலைவர்களைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். கருத்து வேறுபாடுகள் இருந்தாலும் அவை கொடூரமாக மாறக்கூடாது என்பதையும், அரசியல் எதிரிகளை அவர்களின் துன்பங்களை கேலி செய்யாமல் விமர்சிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதையும், ஜனநாயக அமைப்புகளின் மாண்பை மதிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் நம் தலைவர்களிடமிருந்து கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

எனவே, மாண்புமிகு பேரவைத் தலைவர் அவர்கள்:

இந்நிகழ்வைக் கவனத்தில் கொண்டு, முழுமையான பதிவையும் பரிசீலிக்க வேண்டும்.
இந்தச் செயல்பாடு சட்டமன்றத்தின் மாண்பு மற்றும் கண்ணியத்திற்கேற்ப இருந்ததா என்பதைத் தீர்மானிக்க வேண்டும்.
தேவையானதாகக் கருதப்பட்டால், உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் அல்லது உரிய குழுவிற்கு இவ்விவகாரத்தைப் பரிந்துரைக்க வேண்டும்.

இந்த மனு எந்தவொரு அரசியல் கட்சியையோ தனிநபரையையோ ஆதரிப்பதற்காக அல்ல. எந்தக் கட்சியைச் சேர்ந்தவராக இருந்தாலும், ஒவ்வொரு மக்கள் பிரதிநிதிக்கும் இதே அளவுகோல் பொருந்த வேண்டும்.

தணிக்கை அல்ல, பொறுப்புணர்வையே நாங்கள் கோருகிறோம்.
தனிப்பட்ட வகையில் ஒருவரை அவமானப்படுத்துவது அல்ல, அரசியல் விவாதத்தையே நாங்கள் கோருகிறோம்.
மனித துன்பத்தை கேலியாக மாற்றாமல், கருத்துகளுக்காக தலைவர்கள் வாதிடும் ஒரு ஜனநாயக அமைப்பை நம் குழந்தைகளுக்கு விட்டுச் செல்ல வேண்டும் என்பதே எங்கள் கோரிக்கை.

Subject: Request for examination of conduct during Assembly proceedings on September 7, 2026

We, concerned citizens and voters of Tamil Nadu, respectfully request the Hon’ble Speaker to examine the conduct of the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Assembly proceedings on September 7, 2026, while referring to M.K. Stalin’s detention under MISA during the Emergency.

During the proceedings, the Hon’ble Chief Minister made a gesture referring to the physical injury reportedly associated with M.K. Stalin’s detention. The complete video and official record should be examined to establish the exact words, context and circumstances surrounding the gesture.

Political leaders have every right to criticise one another’s politics, decisions and records. But political debate should not become personal humiliation or mockery of physical suffering.

The Assembly is a people’s institution, not a political rally or a stage for personal ridicule.

Our children are watching. They should learn from our leaders that disagreements can be fierce without becoming cruel; that political opponents can be challenged without mocking suffering; and that democratic institutions deserve dignity.

We therefore request that the Speaker:

Take cognisance of the incident and examine the complete record.
Determine whether the conduct was consistent with the dignity and decorum expected of the Assembly.
Take or refer the matter for appropriate action, if warranted.
Reaffirm that personal humiliation and mockery of physical injuries have no place in legislative debate.
This petition is not in defence of any political party or individual. The same standard should apply to every elected representative, regardless of party.

We ask for accountability, not censorship.
We ask for political debate, not personal humiliation.
We ask that our children inherit a democracy where leaders fight over ideas without turning human suffering into entertainment.
