Patrick Brown started this petition to Ontario Provincial Government

With gun and gang violence on the rise, it is crucial to increase security and surveillance on our roads. According to the Peel Regional Police, there have been several shooting incidents on our major highways since 2018. Gang members are taking advantage of the lack of surveillance to make fast getaways on our highways as it was a blindspot for law enforcement. We propose the installation of CCTV cameras on the 403 and 410, the cameras will serve as a deference and will aid the police in catching perpetrators. Cameras on our highways will provide visual of license plates and will help identify the drivers involved in these shootings.

We require your support to increase security surveillance on our major highways in order to aid in investigation and prevent crime on our streets. We are urging the Ontario government to provide the necessary support and funding for Closed Circuit Surveillance Cameras on the 403 and 410.

“Gangs don’t recognize postal codes. They don’t care about municipal jurisdiction and I need the senior levels of government to step up,” Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown

Peel Region lacks funding and the increase in crime is showing that. This petition will be used to garner the numbers needed to urge the Ontario provincial government to begin funding that we need for crime prevention through CCTVs.

Take a stand against Gun and Gang crime on our highways and make Peel region safe again.
