The Ysleta Independent School District has continued to assign homework while the El Paso County Is under virtual learning. The difficult times we are currently facing with the Pandemic that continues to spread has led to many schools to continue under virtual learning. Virtual Learning itself is already an issue as students spend 8 hours a day staring a screen, but on top of that students then have to spend several more hours completing more assignments because of the sheer amount of homework that is given out. Not only is having to complete homework for every class every single day exhausting, it is very bad for you. Staring at a screen for this long can cause a large number of issues, including eye strain, blurred vision, headaches, neck and back pain, along with many others. Along with this, having to complete homework for every class is extremely stressful, and YISD knows it. YISD Is constantly giving us tips on how to deal with stress instead of helping us and taking away the thing that is causing us so much stress. They say "It's a difficult time for us all" but if they really meant it, they'd take off the workload. Us students have lives, and we don't want to be spending countless hours a day slaving away at a screen.
