Hello, Discord users!

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably heard the unfortunate news that another music bot has been shut down. Recently, YouTube has been issuing notices to popular music bots, requesting they cease use of YouTube as their source of music. At the time of this petition, the owners of Rythm bot have just announced that they will be shutting it down.

Rhythm, along with other popular music bots, have allowed people around the world to be able to enjoy music while using the voice call/chat feature in Discord. We, as a community, do not take any sides in any potential conflict, but we humbly ask YouTube to allow these bots to stay up and active. German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche one said “without music, life would be a mistake.” I think I, along with a large portion of the discord community, can safely say that this certainly holds true today. 

Discord has become an amazing place where people have been able to connect with friends, family, and other people from across the world. Music is another factor that we can use to connect with people, and being able to share our music with anyone is an experience we all can cherish. Whether it be your next door neighbor or someone halfway around the world.

 I do not speak for the entire discord community, or the staff members for any music bot. We are simply hoping to get the word out to YouTube and request they attempt to come to some sort of agreement for the use of these music bots to continue, in lieu of forcing them to shut down.
