Fix YouTube’s advertising system to benefit creators

The Issue

Recently, YouTube updated their terms of service to state that smaller creators may have ads placed on their videos. Before this, YouTube utilized a Partner Program that would only place ads on videos that were published by creators in this service, and these creators would share revenue from these ads. Now, any channel, including very small channels who are unable to participate in the program, can have ads placed on their videos, meaning that those not included in the program will not be paid for the ads on their videos. This is unfair to those that have not yet reached the milestones required to receive revenue on behalf of advertisers. Signing this petition requests that YouTube changes their system so that anyone who makes videos that are suitable for advertisers, no matter the subscriber count, are fairly compensated.
