Don't let fake businesses exist. Ban 5 Minute Crafts!
The Issue
5 Minute Crafts is a problem.
First of all, their videos are fake. Dozens of YouTubers have made videos about how fake 5 Minute Crafts is. Just look something up on Google like "is 5 Minute Crafts Fake". I highly doubt you won't find at least ten recently posted videos exposing how fake 5 Minute Crafts' videos are.
Second, this falseness causes tons of people every day to lose money. For example, so many children and teens have tried and tried to do these "hacks" that 5 Minute Crafts posts, but would fail every time. They would lose all of their pocket money by buying food items and supplies to do these "hacks" and would end up thinking that they are the ones that can't do these simple things. But in reality, it's 5 Minute Crafts' fault for making fake videos that make people waste money to make things that can't be made.
Third, some of their "hacks" are dangerous. In one of their videos, they suggested duct-taping your feet to stools so that you can be able to places in higher areas. This is very unsafe but it still got millions of views. Also, in a video for kids, they suggested making a DIY drink out of Skittles and Vodka. Vodka. For children. Your kids could be watching this.
Fourth, 5 Minute Crafts targets its videos toward Youtube's algorithm so that the algorithm promotes it so that people will watch these videos, hence giving 5 Minute Crafts more views. The Soul Publishing (owner of 5 Minute Crafts) isn't an ethical business. 5 Minute Crafts is just one of many money-making machines for this company. The Soul Publishing says that it has 100+ YouTube channels. On their website (https://www.thesoul-publishing.com) they claim that they're an "...independent digital studio that produces enjoyable, informative and inspiring original content for a global audience." However, in reality, they produce specially-edited content (that is not 'original' in any way) that is designed to make you want to watch what they post.
It would be tough to shut 5 Minute Crafts down, but at least we can ban it on Youtube.
