Ban Animal Abuser ‘Ssoyoung’ from YouTube.
The Issue
Dear YouTube,
It is absolutely shocking that the channel of popular Korean ASMR/Mukbang „celebrity” Ssoyoung is still being allowed to exist on your platform! The creator of the channel regularly practices intentional and undeniable Animal Cruelty. Her behaviour is nothing short of repulsive and outright unethical.
She intentionally torments Sea Creatures (particularly Octopus) by ripping them apart/cutting out their vital organs/dragging/dropping them on concrete/pouring salt and hot sauce over them/biting into and chewing them etc. ALL OF THIS WHILE THEY’RE STILL ALIVE, MOVING AND FULLY CONSCIOUS. She usually laughs and jokes at the same time, demonstrating a total lack of compassion.
Here are just a few examples from her channel:
THIS IS NOT ENTERTAINMENT. THIS IS ANIMAL CRUELTY. NO MATTER WHERE YOU’RE FROM OR WHAT YOUR CULTURAL BACKGROUND IS.
She is making a huge profit off of „shock value” and Animal Suffering, promoting this behaviour to a staggering 5.65 Million Subscribers! Most of her viewers are young, therefore very easy to influence. It is extremely upsetting to think that she could potentially be inspiring so many people to treat Animals the same way she does. YouTube must take responsibility and do something about this. It is completely unacceptable that she is getting away with this kind of explicit content.
Anybody who has seen the amazing Oscar-winning documentary ‚My Octopus Teacher’ will, without any doubt, agree that these are highly intelligent and complex creatures. Creatures who feel, remember and are capable of developing a bond, even with humans! She treats these incredible beings as if they were nothing, showing a total lack of respect for the Natural World.
Any empathetic or half decent person will 100% agree that Ssoyoung, either needs to be completely banned from YouTube, or at least have her videos which promote Animal Cruelty removed.
„Cultural Differences” are no excuse for broadcasting Animal Abuse to such a wide audience across the world. She has been doing this for far too long now. Enough is enough. Nobody should be in danger of coming across this type of highly disturbing content on YouTube.
