You can no longer solve today’s problems with yesterday's solutions

The Issue

Dear Iranian People,

So many people around the world have heard your voice, felt your pain, and seen your tears. Your power is your vote, unity, and ingenuity. If the following is your voice, bridge the divide, be inventive, and cast your vote! Let yourself, each other, and the world know where you stand.

Iranian people, during the 2550 years of their civilization, have experienced secular and religious dictator, fascist, and autocratic governments. Now, they want a secular democratic system of government;

1.     Every citizen is free to practice any religion or no religion

2.     Every religion is free from any influence of the government

3.     The constitution is free from any influence of any religion

4.     The government is free from any influence of any religion

5.     Every citizen regardless of his or her identity has equal rights; equal justice, opportunity, and freedom before the law.

6.     Every branch of government has an equal responsibility to uphold the constitution.

I believe these principles and their enforcement will lead to a more sustainable and peaceful future for all.

  1. Iran can join the modern world as a truly great country.
  2. To be part of the modern world, we need to expand our thinking beyond one religion. The world is very big, and different peoples hold different beliefs.
  3. But all people of good will want a good future for EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE.
  4. This means people in every country, male and female alike, of all races, of all faiths, speaking different languages, rich and poor alike.
  5. To be part of this modern world, we must all have basic human rights, based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
  6. This includes the right to participate in the government of our country.
  7. This includes the freedom to participate our various faiths.
  8. This includes equality before the law.
  9. This includes equal protection without any discrimination.
  10. This includes equal freedom as long as that freedom does not interfere with freedom of anyone else.
  11. This includes equal opportunity to compete for a local, state, and federal elected official position.
  12. This includes equal rights to vote.
  13. This includes earth rights.

  14. This includes human rights.

  15. This includes animal rights.

  16. This includes democratic institutions and fundamental rights.
