The ocean. What a wondrous place to explore the depths of unexplored under water beauty and to experience the unknown of how the different unique marine species live their lives. Except it’s not all “sunshine and rainbows.” Remember that piece of plastic that YOU “forgot” or weren’t “bothered” to put into the bin? How about not disposing or taking home YOUR fishing line/hook gear after using it purposefully? All OUR plastic, fishing gear and other necessities end up in the ocean harming the poor, helpless Seals causing a major issue in the underwater depths of the ocean! You don’t think this affects you? Well, if you think about it, it is mainly us who are responsible for all the of Marine animal’s injuries including plastic and fishing gear since who knows when! You think you can carry on with your day without feeling guilty? I don’t think so!
 
There are 2 main sources of where plastic from the ocean may originate from. Land-based-pollution and Ocean-based-pollution. Land-based-pollution is where plastic is not deliberately thrown into the water but rather blown into the ocean from beaches or swept up by storms. Ocean-based-pollution is plastic that comes from garbage disposed by sea ships or lost fishing gear. 1400 seals decease every year by the cause of fishing line entanglements in Australia.  But it’s not just the Animals being affected by this problem, so is the Ocean! Every time plastic is dumped into the ocean, the more underwater it becomes an ocean dump location! Did you know that 130,000 tonnes of plastic are dumped into Australia’s oceans every year, unintentionally killing many seals and other marine life? But is it really unintended? We know this is a serious problem, yet we are doing NOTHING about it!
 
Seals and many other Marine life get negatively impacted from our careless actions. Luckily there is hope. It is us who caused this problem, so it must be us who solves it! Together, let’s recycle our plastics for the good and dispose of our fishing gear using Seal the Loop Bins! Seal The Loop is an organisation that that has creatively and innovatively installed bright coloured bins that will obtain YOUR attention. These bins are located in main popular fishing areas across Australia to prevent fishing gear equipment ending up in the ocean along with all the plastic!
 
You see, this is a real, big, problem. The poor helpless Seals NEED our help and NEED our committed support to save their lives and many other marine lives and oceans with it!
