Yoga for climate action

Yoga for climate action

An estimated 2.18 million people are practising yoga in their own homes and in communities across Australia (Levine, 2018; Penman et al., 2012). Yoga means caring for the interrelated aspects of being human, alongside all life. Mustering the fullest understanding possible around climate change can leave us in no doubt about: our connection to the problem and the avoidable suffering it generates; and our collective capacity to influence how things evolve, to avoid future suffering. Yoga subtly fine tunes discernment about action, contemplation and letting go. This Federal election requires we do those in the right order, because along with our yoga practice, united political leadership that prioritises this issue when addressing all others, can enhance quality of life for generations.
