Economic fallout from the policies implemented during the Covid-19 crisis have affected economies across the country, especially here in Eastern NC. These ripples continue to stress the citizens of Pitt Co and Greenville to this day. The pressure does not seem to be letting up anytime soon. Record high inflation means everyday essential goods cost more than they ever have. Credit card debt is at an all time high. Insurance rates continue to rise and are sure to go even higher. Utility rates will be increased, another essential budget item getting more expensive. The list goes on and
on. In addition to this economic heartburn, property owners in Pitt County and Greenville have been given substantial increases in their government property assessments. The Pitt Co/Greenville tax payer has experienced hit after hit, loss after loss when it comes to their economic survival. While county and city budget responsibilities have increased, so have their revenues. After so many defeats seemingly out of our control, we are asking our county and city leaders for a win, a little relief. This June please vote for a revenue neutral budget, a vote that will benefit every
citizen in Pitt County and Greenville.
