This is regarding the construction of the dam on Cauvery river to supply power to Bengaluru. This proposal entails the submerging of 60% of Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary which is a crucial junction as it is the sanctuary which is in between Bannerghatta National Park and BR Hills/MM Hills and is home to a variety of animals such as the leopard, sloth bears and elephants. 

Elephants regularly take this route to travel from Ragihalli and surrounding areas in Bannerghatta all the way up to BR hills through Cauvery Sanctuary. If there is a dam in between, it will lead to huge human animal conflicts in the future. 

Please stand up for the animals and the  voiceless. It is there land as well. It is very important for elephant corridors to be protected. Submerging and murdering an entire wildlife sanctuary is not the solution. 

Please sign this petition to convince the Government of Karnataka not to go ahead with this project for the  survival of a wildlife sanctuary.
