Ybarra Franchising Group, LLC aka Gringo's Corporate Office (2601 Underwood Road La Porte, Texas 77571) has filed a lawsuit against Habanera and The Gringo (9902 Gulf Freeway Houston, TX 77034) for the use of the word “Gringo”. This small family owned restaurant is no competition to the Gringo’s chain. The modest location is located near Hobby airport on the freeway and is supported by many in the neighborhood. There is no confusion nor misrepresentation by this restaurant as a part of the Gringo’s line of restaurants. In my experience Gringo’s has a loyal customer base that knows and enjoy’s its distinctively different brand of Tex Mex to what is offered at Habanera and The Gringo. We respectfully request Gringo's drop the lawsuit. Show that Gringo's has the Texas value of friendship and stop this lawsuit so both sides can focus on making the quality food the customer bases have come to expect from both restaurants.
