Pardon Thitapah Charoenchuea, from Khon Kaen, Thailand

This petition had 1,785 supporters

Thitapah Charoenchuea, from Khon Kaen, Thailand, made an error in judgement. We are human, and all make errors in judgement to one degree or another. One learns from these mistakes. However, when one is condemned to death, one cannot learn and move forward. Thitapah Charoenchuea, is a 26 year old struggling single mother, of a ten year old child, that has been scheduled for execution in connection with a Cannabis charge in Malaysia. Young, and unexperienced, and coerced by an older male, pressured to make the wrong choice. Cannabis is an herb. A plant that is useful to humans in one or more applications. The efficacy of Cannabis has been scientifically proven by over 2000 studies, and counting. Laws have been passed for a variety of reasons. Special interest groups like chemical and pharmaceutical companies steering many of these laws. The only true danger associated with the plant is the ones we have placed on it ourselves. Incarceration and execution...because of an herb.... We ask that you sign this Petition and send a clear message that we are asking for a full pardon for Thitapah Charoenchuea. In the spirit of continued good relations between the Peoples of Thailand and Malaysia, their leaders the honorable Yang di-Pertuan Agong Abdul Halim of Kedah Malaysia and His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, granting Thitapah Charoenchuea clemency, would show generosity and compassion from the Malaysian government. This would be a wonderful gift for Thitapah Charoenchuea, her child and her family, and would serve to strengthen the strong positive relationship shared between Thialand and Malaysia. In the spirit of approaching new year, a time for new beginnings, can't we give Thitapah Charoenchuea and her child a new beginning? Please sign this petition and share widely. Thank you.
