It's raining money
China has been pumping in a huge amount of financial resources in Nepal, helping the landlocked country in laying new roads including connecting it to Chinese cities for transportation of petroleum and other essential products, ostensibly to help Kathmandu cut dependence on New Delhi. China overtook India as the biggest FDI source for Nepal in 2014. Now reportedly in the first quarter of this year, 90 per cent of Nepal's FDI came from Beijing. That's a stupendous amount of money which cannot be ignored.
