The local government area of Wyndham is lacking first response Police officers. We need 159 first response Police officers to meet the State Policing levels. When we are lacking first response officers, some 000 call outs are unattended and the existing staff are overworked to meet the increasing demand for call outs. Wyndham is the one of the fastest growing areas in Victoria and needs adequate Police presence to ensure that the area is safe and secure. We need more Police resources, equipped with mobile technological capacity to meet the current demand and predicted future growth. Point Cook also needs a local Police Station to ensure local response needs are met. With a current population of 45,000, a full time Point Cook Police station benefits the whole of Wyndham. We, as residents of Wyndham, need to be safe in our homes and safe on our streets. We are requesting from the State Government: 159 officers to reach state Policing levels in Wyndham, A police Station for Point Cook and Technological equipment that enables efficient Policing.
