Wyandotte County has been known for its corruption within the police department.  Please family and friends let's stand together and fight for justice for my son who is innocent. Hear my cry as a mother. Let's stop corruption within our justice system one story at a time. Here is my son's story: 

My name is Berlin Gonzalez, and my 16-year-old son Vincent Gonzalez was extradited from New Mexico in June 2021 and sent to Wyandotte County juvenile detention on a 1st-degree murder charge. My son Vincent was not even in the state of Kansas when this homicide took place. Law enforcement went across state lines based on the testimony of a 15-year-old witness who never even met my son in person and implicated my son as the murderer.  There was never a lineup where my son was picked out. My son to this day, has not been questioned by detectives about this crime. His story has never been heard. It's astonishing how a 15-year-old boy doesn't know how to drive, went from New Mexico to Kansas (15 hours and 22-minute drive) committed a murder, and came back home without his mother knowing. There is no record of him flying or taking the bus. He did not go to visit Kansas he was living in Las Cruces New Mexico with his family when this happened.  

Please I need help getting my son exonerated and the real murderer needs to be apprehended. The family of the victim needs justice and so does our family. Wyandotte law enforcement who failed to do their jobs right must be reprimanded. My son has been wrongfully accused of a murder he did not commit. He has sat in a jail cell since July 2021.

Please help me get his story out so he will not become another statistic for Wyandotte County.
