Remove the "members" section from their website.
Remove the "members" section from their website.
The Issue
The new "members" section of the website violates an artists right to remain anonymous. Should information regarding full names, birth dates, and countries of origin leak or be chosen at a prior date by the artist to be made private, the Metal Archives staff claim the right to publish this information as they wish. Additionally, it is also a violation of a band's aesthetic choices as the page links the musician to all projects he/she is involved with. This means that if an artist is operating under a pseudonym for whatever reason, if revealed even to friends on a public facebook profile, this can be reposted on Metal Archives. Additionally, much of the information uploaded to Metal Archives is taken from other user based sites and is inaccurate, a reputable encyclopedia should take it's information from solid, reliable sources, and not from contribution based or personal sources.
