As you may or may not know, Spotify is a music platform similar to platforms such as: google play, YouTube music, Pandora, slacker, iTunes, etc.

The point i am making here, affects probably a small part of the community that Spotify refuses to represent; Music nerds.

whatever reason they have upon this is very lackluster and not a very good reason either

the song playlist limit is 10,000, and while that number seems high, it really is not

for instance, iTunes's song playlist limit is 100,000.

not only that, their response instead of updating it to be higher, or removing it is this:

"1. Very few playlists approach 10000 songs. If we increased the limit, it would only benefit and extremely small fraction on users, so we'd be spending precious resources on something that only a fraction of users would benefit from.

2. For users that approach the limit, it's very easy to work around by creating another playlist.

3. It's not clear if a single long playlist of 10000+ is a very useful way of navigating songs."



even if it is a small minority, i would not call it a waste of time. music nerds would make up a good amount of that, and making the move to change that would also probably bring a lot of new members to your site.



this is almost hypocritical

this is a music site, and you limit how big your playlist is, that is not only absurd, but backwards. you *should* be able to make it how big you want, even then at least give the option to premium users (if you have not already) the option of some sort, i am sure people in that minority wouldn't feel either robbed or agitated if you did something like that.



another idea is take a community vote, an official one, if popular vote wins, depending on changing it or removing, follow through.

i believe if i get at least 10k people, i am sure that someone will notice that at least 10,000 people are interested in changing the 10,000 song limit
