Most of us are aware of the underground dog meat industry and "festivals" throughout Asia. The entire world has been active for years in protesting and expressing outrage at the many events held by these countries where thousands of dogs, many being stolen pets, are cruelly tortured and killed in barbaric and sadistic ways. One man, however, is going several steps further by literally risking his life many times over by documenting this industry and successfully carrying out rescues for many of these tortured dogs. Marc Ching, from Animal Hope and Wellness, has been to Asia 4 times so far and has almost been killed 3 times. He's been beaten, robbed, shot and held at machete but still remains unwavering in his mission and that is to save the lives of these tortured, damaged animals. Marc has individually witnessed dogs being beaten by hammers and axes, hung by their necks and slowly blow torched, their screams not ceasing until the blow torch reaches their faces, dogs skinned alive, their paws chopped off, stomped on, and the horrors just continue. Yet despite these scarring, damaging scenes he continues to enter these secret locations and underground slaughterhouses, having been beaten and almost killed himself, to try to save as many lives as he can. He packs the most desperate and tortured cases at each destination into his van, takes them to his allianced vets and treat these animals at his own cost and arranges for them to be cared for until they can be re-homed, the most traumatised he flies out to America to find homes with something they never even knew existed - loving families.
