The sons and family of Ricardo Verduzco are asking all awake persons of good will to sign this petition to the California Governor demanding the Immediate Exoneration, pardon and release of Ricardo Verduzco.

In 1999 he lost his freedom at the age of 20 years old through POLICE and PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT. He's been in prison for 23 years sentenced to LIFE WITH OUT PAROLE, for a murder in which he was WRONGFULLY CONVICTED. The Detectives and Prosecutors used: (1) A PREJUDICIAL 1 PERSON LINE UP PROCEDURE, showing a witness a single photo of Ricardo by himself while targeting his clothing and not showing photos of other possible suspects to view. (2) INTRODUCED a gun magazine from an UNRELATED CASE into trial with NO BALLISTICS to link the magazine to the murder. Ricardo had an alibi witness Priest Stan Bosh placing him in church at the funeral of the mother of his son during the time the murder took place.  Additionally, no witness ever identified Ricardo by face, nor did he fit any descriptions of the suspects given to police.

Ricardo has participated in rehabilitative programs in prison, completed school, self-help programs, completed a 13-session House of Healing course, completed a victims Impact course and currently participating in Toast Masters class. He attends work and is assigned a Law Library Clerk. Ricardo is pending a behavior override transfer to a lower-level general population setting security level due to being disciplinary free for a long period of time. Ricardo has outside support from a variety of community programs and groups. He wants to help others by working at a lawyer's firm as a paralegal. He has 2 sons and is a grandfather and is ready to come home to his family and to a new life.
