Wright Way is the wrong way to adopt.

Wright Way is the wrong way to adopt.

The Issue

My name is Cami Anderson and I am contacting your office to respectfully request that your office consider investigating what I, and many others in our community, believe to be many years of deceptive business practices and fraud by an animal rescue in Morton Grove, Illinois called Wright-Way Rescue.

I recently adopted a puppy from a corporate event where Lambs Farm had brought puppies available for "adoption" that were sourced from Wright-Way Rescue in Morton Grove. My puppy, Hero, died from Parvo about a week later. I was not told that he was treated for Parvo, and Lambs Farm and Wright-Way initially denied any knowledge of the puppy having Parvo. It was later revealed, by the owner of Wright-Way Rescue, that they did know and treat the puppy for Parvo, but they did not disclose that at the time of adoption. Bringing those puppies to a corporate event exposed our community to a highly contagious and deadly virus for pets. Many people unknowingly may have transmitted and exposed their own pets to Parvo. My adoption fee was returned, but I still have$5,196.18 worth of vet bills. I have been in contact with another person who adopted a puppy from the same litter from the Wright-Way facility in Morton Grove. That puppy also tested positive for Parvo and was treated, and has survived. Many other people who have adopted puppies from Wright-Way have had similar devastating experiences, and this conduct has spanned many years. The Illinois Animal Welfare Act does not mandate the testing for Parvo prior to an animal’s adoption. This has resulted in numerous Illinois consumers loosing thousands of dollars and many suffering the loss of a pet. We believe that the deceptive business practices of Wright-Way Rescue have resulted in fraud and we respectfully request your office to investigate
