As concerned citizens hearing the demands of our neighbors to do more to ensure the safety of civilians, we ask the Worthington Police Department to commit to a date within the next year to implement body cameras worn by all officers. 

We understand that budgets are tight across our state and country. However, it's important all organizations committed to service are taking this moment to do MORE to ensure systemic racial injustice is ended. 

We understand the body cameras will not prevent injustice and racism. However, they are a strong accountability measure, and we refuse to turn a blind eye to the racial injustice continuing to happen in this country. We refuse to turn a blind eye to the suffering of our neighbors, our loved ones, our children, and ourselves.

We hope the Worthington Police will partner with our community to hear the cry of our citizens and do the right thing - ensure accountability for everyone with the power and responsibility to serve and protect.
