Dynamite Kid 'Thomas Billington' To be Inducted into The WWE Hall Of Fame

The Issue

It is my firm belief that "The Dynamite Kid" Thomas Billington should be inducted into the Prestigious WWE Hall Of Fame at The Earliest Opportunity. This is due to his many contributions to Pro Wrestling, his long term effect on the industry and his invention and innovation in particular. He was the first British WWE (WWF) Singles Champion, winning the WWF Junior Heavyweight Championship in 1984. He was the one of the first British Tag Team Champions along with his partner Davey Boy Smith as "The British Bulldogs" in 1986 At Wrestlemania 2. He invented moves which are commonplace in modern wrestling, such as the Top Rope Superplex. He also innovated, and brought the move now known as "The Tombstone Piledriver" to the forefront, now known best as The Undertaker's finishing move. Without Dynamite Kid at 5ft 8inches to pave the way for the wrestlers under 6ft in height, it could be argued that the wrestling business would look very different today. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Becky Lynch, Bret Hart and Daniel Bryan, all former world champions in WWE have all been quoted as citing Dynamite Kid as a huge influence on their careers. Footage of his matches, especially with Tiger Mask Satoru Sayama are used in Wrestling Schools all over the world today to teach up and coming wrestlers. Dave Meltzer of The Observer Report first awarded a 5 star rating to one of their matches. Billington's achievements and contributions in my opinion, should be acknowledged and respected by making him an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.
