Annually, hundred millions of sharks are being killed. And many people target this apex predator due to the high value of its fin that is partnered in many expensive cuisines and delicacies. When talking about traditional cuisines, one thing that we can put in our mind is the famous shark fin soup. And this cuisine will not be perfected without the help of the shark's fin. It promotes the culture and tradition but beneath it is the extinction of many species and types of sharks including the scalloped and smooth hammerhead. Aside from this is how people harvest sharks in an unhuman way. How? because after a person catches the shark, its fin is taken away from the rest of the body which is either selled or thrown back at the ocean, swimless and helpless.

Making shark finning illegal can already be a great help to save the destruction of other species of marine animals and plants. That’s why we must protect and preserve this kind of species because it cannot only affect the ocean but also the world above it.
