Protecting Umkomaas Beach and other

The Issue

With a shocking suprise, myself and my family could barely walk on a once beautiful Umkomaas Beach. It was filled with sea life between the rocks and It has been a special remote spot.

With Medical waste, tonnes of plastic and other dangerous objects, one could only wonder what is happening to South Africa's beaches. Where are the people responsible to clean this and further more, where does it come from and what is Local and National government doing to prevent or to cure this? Seems like nothing.

What will be left? Are we also on the route to have plastic and garbage as beaches? This is a horrifying state of affairs and it is sad to see the very little natural assets our country has is going down under as well. Is it Ships dumping it at see, or the rivers bringing it down from the townships and cities?

It is sad to thinks that these type of assets for tourism and locals are being treated as dumping sites and the poor attention, reponse and assitance to prevent it's receiving.

Where is the allocated tax budgets for it? This has never been a problem and shouldn't be. This coming from a government that preaches that you shouldn't pollute, however they are allowing it in mass scale and contributing to it.

From a very sad frequent visitor.
