Ban Wire Cable Snares in the Annamite Mountains to Protect the Critically Endangered Saola

Ban Wire Cable Snares in the Annamite Mountains to Protect the Critically Endangered Saola
The Issue
When I was in 6th grade, while doing research for a science project, I stumbled across the saola: a mammal closely related to wild cattle and buffaloes. The saola is one of the rarest animals on Earth, found only in Laos and Vietnam, in the Annamite Mountains, and currently identified as critically endangered.
The Zoological Society of London includes the saola in its global Top 100 of Evolutionarily Distinct & Globally Endangered species, placing the saola at #44. The saola population is currently estimated at less than 250.
The biggest cause of the saola's endangerment is hunting- specifically, the setting of thousands of wire cable snares in its range by professional poachers.
We cannot lose this beautiful animal- let's get the World Wildlife Fund to ban wire cable snares in the Annamite mountains and save the saola!
