World Gym in Victorville, CA has billboard off of exit 45. The billboard has an image of a plus size female standing on a bathroom scale, the billboard read "Save the Scales" This type of advertising is a form of capitalizing of insecurities, marketing on body image issues and blatantly body shaming. Billboards like these, add to the fact of social construct plays a huge role in body image issues, and body dysmorphic disorder. Our small town isn't immune to the insensitivity of this kind of adversiting. I petition to have the billboard taken down, along with a formal apology, not just from the World Gym branch in Victorville, but from the World Gym franchise.
