Coronavirus lockdown has led to cleaner air, increased visibility and liberated wildlife. How was a lockdown for just few weeks able to achieve what government couldnot for decades? Lockdown has clearly told us what the main sources of pollution are. These observations need to be noted to devise better, stricter, more accountable and transparent environmental policies with more active role on part of NGT and pollution control boards.

We need to take benefit of this opportunity as the environment is detoxifying , our job now is just to maintain this cleaner environment even post lockdown. For this we need to act as active citizens and come together to make sure we donot get back to pre-lockdown polluted environment.
