We Will Boycott Boxing (WBO) Fights Unless New System Placed For Declaring Winner

We Will Boycott Boxing (WBO) Fights Unless New System Placed For Declaring Winner
The Issue
Enough is enough! Last Saturday's fight with Manny Pacquiao Vs Jeff Horn will be the last boxing match I'll ever watch, despite it being an unusually "toll-free" fight (at least those watching on TV).
Even my 6-year-old knows that Pacquiao easily won that night. But, for some out-of-worldly reason, the 3 judges unanimously made Horn the winner despite Compubox scoring shows otherwise. What boxing match were those Judges watching?
See the Judges Cards:
Judges Chris Flores and Ramon Cerdan both scored the bout at 115-113, but Waleska Roldan's adjudication of 117-111 on Sunday afternoon has Freddie Roach fuming
But see the actual punch numbers:
Punch stats show how Pacquiao dominated Horn
You see the punch stats has it at 123 vs 73 for the PacMan.
And over the years, Boxing Robbery, as it is known, is not surprisingly uncommon. Remember the first fight of Manny Pacquiao Vs. Tim Bradley? Well it's just one among the other controversial fight decisions in history:
It's clear as day that this age-old judging system is broken. It's needs to be retired and replaced.
While we support and demand for a recount on the Pacquiao Vs Horn match, but then, that's just a temporary fix. It's high time we need a long-term, permanent solution because I bet this robbery WILL happen again and again in the future - not only to Pacquiao but to any hard-working and honest fighter.
I know you will say judging in boxing is not that simple. Judges are there to assign points to the boxers, based on punches that connect, defense, knockdowns, and other, more subjective criteria.
But that's the word, "Subjective". As soon as you put man's (and woman's) subjective decisions to an objective scoring system, that will result in a lot of problems.
Also, why make it complicated when there are other more simple and fair ways to do it?
Therefore, shouldn't this be the last of this kind? Stephen A. Smith of ESPN was on point when he said last Saturday's results was a "bogus decision"?
Stephen A.: Judges' decision on Pacquiao-Horn 'bogus'
Now, this is the reason why I started this petition: To be part of the solution is to offer alternate judging rules.
THE SOLUTION :
Change the Rules of Decision:
Option 1:
Winner is declared based on Punch Stats - particularly how many Landed Punches are thrown. Plain and simple.
As long as a boxing match has not ended in a knockout, technical knockout (TKO) or disqualification (DQ), the fighter with the higher Landed Punch score at the end of the fight is ruled the winner. (part of statement taken from Wikipedia)
The Rationale:
Just look at other sports with almost no controversial results like Basketball. It's not how good you handle the ball in court, or how aggressive you are, or how you gave your best - It's how many shots you make.
The Process:
You still have judges (or they're not judges at all, we'll call them Boxing officials) but their job is simply to confirm the Landed Punch Stats and note the knockouts, TKO and DQs. That's it. At the end, it's all a numbers game.
Option 2:
Just let the Referee + the Compubox Score declare the winner.
The Rationale :
The Referee sees it all, so to speak. He sees all angles of the fight and he knows this stuff day in day out. The judges are influenced by the crowds around them and they are nowhere near the Boxers as the Referee. But it should still be validated by the Compubox Scores.
The Process:
You still have landed punch stats and Judges. After each and every round, the referee is given the landed punch stats to confirm/help in deciding the winner of a round. The Boxing Officials are there to perform the roles previously mentioned in Option 1. Then at the end of the fight, those with more winning rounds win. If the match ends in a tie, then the Landed Punch stats overrules and determines the winner.
Option 3:
Please let us know in the comments section your Solution, including the Rationale and Process.
Yeah, I know this will be costly and might take time to implement. But, guess what? How many hundreds of millions of dollars are WBO and other boxing organizations earning from Fans and Advertisers? Doesn't it make sense for them to start fixing this damaged sport? No wonder Boxing fans are flocking to UFC in droves. If no action is done, only time will tell us when Boxing's reputation is completely destroyed.
We send this message to the World Boxing Organization (WBO), World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federaion (IBF) and other concerned Boxing organizations, Promoters and Stakeholders.
