This petition is born out of personal concern for the integrity of our nation's leadership. The tragedies of history have shown us the dangers of unfit rulers. Leaders such as Hitler, Stalin, and Mao Zedong, who may have been mentally unstable, led to the untimely deaths of millions upon millions of people.

 Given the potential repercussions of unbalanced leadership, it is paramount for the US to begin including unbiased  mental health evaluations for our potential and acting presidents.

 A psychiatric examination prior to the primaries and during the presidency can act as safeguard against mental instability in power.

It is worth noting that the US Air Force requires mental health assessments for its pilots who, although crucial, bear significantly less responsibility than the president of a country (Source: US Air Force regulations).

Therefore, it is logical and necessary for individuals who are running for or hold the highest office in the United States to undergo regular mental health assessments.

We call on our fellow citizens to join us in demanding this essential change in our election laws.
