In the past months, multiple WOMEN have reported being STALKED, HARASSED, and FOLLOWED by men from different races, between the ages of 35 and 55. This group of men has been targeting popular shopping areas in Prosper, Celina, McKinney, and Frisco. These creepy actions happen inside stores and, sometimes these individuals wait outside stores and follow victims by car. These incidents pose a serious threat to our communities’ safety and require immediate attention.

On behalf of the women, children, and families in our community, please consider signing this petition. This is happening here in our cities of PROSPER, CELINA, MCKINNEY, and FRISCO! WE MUST ENSURE THIS AREA IS SAFE for our families, friends, and loved ones.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

This is a quiet area, and it may lead people to believe citizens are easy targets. We can notice the LIMITED presence of security personnel, including guards and patrol cars, in public spaces and retail areas, which could be a contributing factor.

Also, most people and store employees ignore how to respond in such situations, and businesses are often unable to release security footage to authorities without clear evidence of a crime.

CONSEQUENCES 

A feeling of insecurity is growing in our communities. This feeling can eventually impact businesses and their revenue as customer’s concerns continue to grow.

Some potential stalkers, predators, and, criminal gangs go unreported and without investigation.

PETITION

We request that BUSINESSES including RETAIL STORES, GROCERY STORES, AND PHARMACIES invest IN SECURITY, improvements such as hiring security personnel, deploying security patrols in parking lots, implementing better surveillance, and training employees on protocols for handling stalking and harassment incidents.

We also request that the authorities of PROSPER, CELINA, MCKINNEY, AND FRISCO INFORM the COMMUNITY about these issues and DEVELOP A PLAN for appropriate actions to take in cases of stalking or harassment.
