I believe that back in March 2020 WMATA or Metro changed their hours of operation with the last trains running between 10:30-10:50pm EST. This is still in effect even though Washington, D.C. has allowed businesses to remain open until 12am. This has left hospitality workers and guests alike looking for safer modes of transportation home. Uber and Lyft are costing about $20-$30 to go about 6miles. We are calling on WMATA to extend hours of the last train to at least 12:30am Sunday-Thursday -and until 1am on Friday and Saturday’s. This will help to reduce some of the stress of finding ways home after long shifts for workers in the area, provide safe transportation home for patrons who may have been drinking, and allow a better transportation.
