We believe that Academic Enrichment Period is one of the most important parts of the school day as it allows students twenty-five minutes to work on homework, seek clarification and aid from teachers, make up tests and quizzes, and complete honor society volunteering hour requirements.
     As most students are keenly aware, it is often nearly impossible to play a sport or be a member of a club, complete required homework assignments, and receive adequate sleep. Moreover, since colleges seek students with wide-ranging extracurricular activities and rigorous academic schedules, AEP can alleviate stress and give students time to complete their homework, thus directly improving their future opportunities.
     Since AEP provides students the chance to receive a little more sleep, allows them to pursue their interests both academically and personally, and creates opportunities to seek clarification on class material, it is a worthwhile way to pass twenty-five minutes of a seven-hour school day.
     Therefore, we respectfully request that AEP is restored to the school day. AEP must stay for student health and achievement!
