I know there are many people who work hard for Wiltshire Council and there are Councillors who do their very best. The fact is (because of funding cuts) staffing levels are inadequate to meet the demands made upon their departments.

Most of those left do the best they can but are put in a Straitjacket (by the 'Jobsworths) whereby they cannot provide the interventions needed. Most are forced to take more draconian actions that do not benefit families and communities.

Wiltshire Council now operates under a 'Blame Culture'. Staff are forced to avoid risks rather than manage them. Staff are often forced to work in fear of taking risks of being criticised &/or sued. Any criticism can result in bullying and even disciplinary.

I know this because I worked for Wiltshire Council in several Safeguarding roles, and it became impossible to do a decent and safe job. Our teams were cut by half and admin work doubled. I was eventually sacked for whistle blowing (with some relief).

If you work for Wiltshire Council and fear making complaints or exposing some of their failings, you are welcome to contact me with complete confidentiality. You do not need to even tell me your name, just provide information on issues that need exposing.

I also know that many of you will be fearful of being identified signing my petition. That is quite understandable. I suggest that you get good friends or members of your family to do so on your behalf.

I am now determined to expose the failings and the abuses of power. I am an old hand at it and will eventually get results. I know Wiltshire is not alone in these failings, but we live here and Wiltshire Council affects my friends and local community.

Please get people to sign my petition for your own sake and for the sake of our Families, Communities and Community Groups/Volunteers, who are being put at greater risk by Wiltshire Council seeking to Avoid Risks.
