Wiltshire Council is Top Heavy. They meet the requirements of 'working in a business like way', but focus upon generating income and saving money, rather than considering what benefits they provide our Communities. These benefits are diminishing year by year. Their main focus is on supporting Large Businesses in the County.

I know from working for them (and attempting to work with them) that they are run by Accountants and poorly qualified and ill-experienced Solicitors. Their management of Social Work, Children & Families, Community Services, Safeguarding and other key areas is failing because of lack of staffing, resources and competent professional guidance,

I meet too many people and families that are seriously let down by Wiltshire Council departments, including their Complaints Department. Request for reconsideration of Benefit Entitlements invariable reject the original claims. My experience in 12 Advocacy Cases taken against Wiltshire Council's decisions in the Courts has resulted in the Original Claims being upheld by the Judges.

We know that Councils are suffering because of Central Government's cutbacks, but that is no excuse for the dishonesty and incompetence of these Services that are supposed to be there to protect the most vulnerable. We need to get Wiltshire Council (and other Local Authorities) to tell the truth concerning why these essential servicezs are failing.
