UP Baguio is ili to us. 

It is the sanctuary we call home and the haven that nurtures our critical consciousness about the world. 

It is the community that weaves into the fabric of our being the virtues of incorruptible honor, academic excellence, and service to the people. 

It is our stronghold in times of retreat and our bastion for the pursuit of liberating and empowering wisdom. 

It is our laboratory for exploring creative thought and for challenging the limits of what we dare to know. 

It is the home we return to time and again to trace our roots and find ourselves when we feel lost.

But the ili that we know has changed because we have been led to forget who we are as a people and what UP Baguio once was to us.

UP Baguio is ili to us, and we need one of us to lead us back to the home that cradles our future, the community that defends our dignity, and the fortress we lean on when times are lawless. 

We need a leader who will Work tirelessly to serve the people and our ili unconditionally.

We need a leader who will Inspire unity among sectors and communities.

We need a leader who will Lobby for our professional and human rights.

We need a leader who will Listen to us with recognition and appreciation of our dignity and capacity.

We need a leader who will not Yield to powers that threaten and aim to exploit us and what we stand for.

We are the people of UP Baguio and we are calling on the leader we turn to when times are uncertain, to heed the call of the people and lead UP Baguio. 

We call on our leader, colleague, teacher, and friend, Professor and UP Scientist WILFREDO VIDAL ALANGUI to accept the nomination to serve as Chancellor of UP Baguio!
