Remove LivePD from Williamson County, Texas

Remove LivePD from Williamson County, Texas
The Issue
The presence of the LivePD television program in Williamson County has affected law enforcement and criminal justice operations in a negative manner in the county.
This includes, but is not limited to, diverting sheriff's department resources to an incorporated area of the county already patrolled by the Austin Police Department; drawing patrol deputies from rural parts of the county to back up and assist on incidents being filmed in incorporated areas, leaving parts of the county unprotected; compromising later criminal prosecutions by altering normal patrol standards and operations to accommodate film crews, such as changing locations during police contacts with citizens and suspects; causing the dismissal of felony criminal charges by the District Attorney's Office because film crew members are not allowed by LivePD to be contacted as witnesses, and LivePD does not provide video to the DA's office.
Most recently film crews have been allowed to ride with deputies and come in contact with local citizens during the Covid19 pandemic in violation of the county's stay-at-home order.
