Dear Mr. Cooper...
Why this petition matters
Dear Mr. Cooper,
The year was 1989, the last time our hometown Cincinnati Bengals made it to the Super Bowl. Their loss to the 49ers began a curse of losing. After a 33 year Super Bowl drought, our team finally has a shot at bringing home the ultimate trophy. This game is extremely symbolic for our city. After everything we have been through, that Super Bowl loss, the multitude of choked playoff games, the global pandemic, and especially Joe Burrow's injury last year.
Considering the information provided above, it is not unreasonable to assume that the entire Greater Cincinnati area, including Mason, will be watching and celebrating the game. The game will end extremely late but the party will not end there, especially once the Bengals claim victory for Cincinnati. Students of our district will not sleep, supporting the Bengals till the very end.
Once people do sleep, it would probably be the next day anyway. This leads to how it would be terrible to have school the next day. Everybody would be extremely tired, leading to an unproductive day. They would also be distracted the entire time, focused on the Bengal's win instead. Teachers would just take the day off but students cannot do that.
However, we have a proposal to fix this problem. You could just cancel school on Monday, Feb 14. Everybody would be fresh coming in on Tuesday ready to continue learning. Another option is to have Monday as an RLE day where students and teachers can both stay home
